Gunner2020 Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 My 2015 GMC Sierra 2500hd is making a bad noise on the first 5 seconds of start up. it lasts a few seconds longer on real cold days. It’s got the 6.0 gas motor. Anyone have this problem? Is the starter getting stuck?
steelerdude15 Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 Can you try to record it and share it with us? Also, how many miles do you have on your truck?

M1ck3y Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 If it happens only on cold days I would say its probably your oil pump that your hearing. My 2010 5.3 would do that when around -20 or so. For me it was a, "screeetch" noise; thats the pump being starved of oil until things get moving. Castrol Edge made it significantly worse even though it's supposed to be rated for cold weather. For the longest time I thought it was my engine, made me cringe every time I heard it..
