2017 GMC Sierra Body molding removal

Does anyone know if the body molding that runs across the door is attached with clips or double sided adhesive? It's about 3/4 way down on the doors and about 1" in wide. I want to change the chrome for matte black.

They are held on by 3M adhesive. Have you thought about wrapping them? Would be a cheaper/easier solution

I have hear about wrapping them, but I have never done it. I have done plasti-dip on another truck, years ago, but I want something better than that. How well does the wrap hold up to road grime and car washes? 

 

Any chance you have a type of wrap that you would recommend?

I would pull them off. Looks cleaner that way.

Welcome to the site.

 

All trim and badges (on the painted surfaces) are held with the OEM 3M tape. If you find a factory replacement (another GM car/truck) you like, it will have the same mounting tape already on it.
