Who has this now. This is pretty new if doable, so might not be a lot with experience yet. Might ask in the half ton section for more responses. Personally, I'm not so worried about nav, but would be interested if just plugging in the larger screen would work for the ior. You'd figure even the matching size screen would be replaceable without any programming due to possible damage replacement frequency.

There are 2 different IOR radios, the one that comes standard on the WT/Custom and the one that comes on the LT. They are the same radio, but the LT's is 8" instead of 7". So if you are just looking for the bigger screen, you'd probably save money and time by getting the bigger screen IOR radio.

No matter what you do, you'll have to replace the bezel, as the 8" screen won't fit. Looking at the interiors on chevy's website and the button layouts look different, so not sure what that would mean for getting the right bezel.

The reason why it took so long for anyone to even release this option and the cost is because of all that goes into it.  Basically it's not just the radio you are getting, it's the upgraded receiver, navigation, extra functions, sirius radio, wireless carplay, and the new backup camera

Why are they replacing the backup camera?

old topic i know....the camera included is one different connector than the stock one and it is considered of a higher quality.  I did this upgrade this past weekend.  Works great!
