Tailgate mismatch?

Hello all,

Currently in the process of having some body work done on my 2020 Silverado 1500 LTZ and I tasked my autobody shop to replaced my creased tailgate (sucks).  Long story short the price to replace it with a whole new one and painted was about $1000 more than purchasing one off ebay that was already paint matched and all.  Ebay title stated it would work with all 19, 20, and 21 models so I bit the bullet and bought it.  Get a call yesterday from the body and the told me that the wire harness for all the electronics *doesnt fit* in the tailgate stopping it from closing and the only option is to put the old one back on.   Just curious, are there different 2020 non mult-ipro tailgate models that would cause this to be true or is my body shop yanking my chain?  Any help would be great because I'm on the verge of going there and raising hell for them charging me the labor to take the tailgate apart and just putting the old one back on.

Can you take photos of the difference (possibly with measurements)? I had my tailgate replaced under warranty in mid-2021 (seam seal weld popped). Not sure that there is a internal difference enough to make it not close.

Yes.  There is standard gate with no assist but with camera, there is power unlock and standard backup camera, there is power unlock and HD backup camera, then there is power up/down gate with camera.  4 different gates, 4 different wiring harnesses.  

 

There are also two different gates based on power up/down or no power up/down.  I think they are physically the same gate, difference comes down to the right side hinge as the gate shells come with hinges when you order a new gate shell.  

 

If you ended up with a non power gate and you have the power up/down gate, you "should" be able to swap the right hinge over, all the wiring, motors, latches, module etc. over to that other gate.

Thanks so much.  I guess ill have to take a look when I get it all back from the shop.  More to come and really appreciate your help.
