2020-22 Duramax 3.0 Long Crank No Start

Trying to decide whether to keep or trade this 2021 1500 RST Duramax that intermittently won’t start. Are any of you with the PIP5823b ECM update still having starting issues? I really appreciate your input.

I had the update and no issues since. Although it has not been that long since I had it updated.

mine has been updated since the fall, it fix it 100%. have about 7000 mines on it since the update

25 more success replies and I might trust driving it out of town again.

Had issues with my 22 but turned out to be fuse box and ground wire related. Haven’t had any issues since, but it’s only been a few days.

I’ve had the update done for about 3 months now and I haven’t had any issues.

Had PIP5823b done on 4/8 and had a long crank no start on 4/12 in very rural N Georgia late night. Cranked 20 mins later. I’m going to pursue buyback or trade for similar RST V8 or a RAM diesel. I’m sick of the stress of a possible no start every time I push the button on a new $50k vehicle.
