Throaty exhaust...2020 Sierra 1500 6.2 Denali

Hi fellas,

Do I need to replace the exhaust with the kit offered from GM (for 1600.00) OR can I simply change the muffler? 

Any reprograming?

Corsa Catback or Borla Catback.  Borla has 3 type’s depending on how aggressive you want to go. Touring, S-Type, and Attak.  The Corsa is very similar to the S-Type. 
 

Do it right the first time and have no regrets.

Anybody that can weld or make cuts into the exhaust can swap out the muffler if all you want in a sound change. The $200 or less for a muffler is far less than a full on cat-back system that costs $1,600.

 

Some people have more money and time, so they opt for the kits while others prefer to save money and spend less time on it. I'm on the side of doing it cheaper.

I second the Corsa or Borla Catback.  You will get the best results.  Second choice would be a Corsa or Borla muffler only, but I've heard mixed results.  If you don't care about the sound that may be ok.  But if you want a great sound without the drone, then go catback.  You should be able to find a full kit for closer to $1200 or less during a sale or promotion.
