Greasing Driver Side Lower Ball Joint

Recommended Posts

I just greased my truck and when I greased the driver side lower ball joint, grease came out aroung the top of the rubber boot. Did I screw up?? If so, what should I do now??

Thanks

I agree with tmf6902. These are vents exactly for the purpose of letting grease out vs damaging the grease seal. I had one of the service reps tell me the same thing at my dealer.

Ditto to what they said. And yes, you put in too much. But no, you shouldn't have damaged anything because the grease will ooze back out. Perhaps you should go lighter on the trigger next time.

Thanks for the replys... I agree that I put in too much. My grease gun was in the barn and was cold (about 20 degrees). It's getting old and I can't always tell if it is working. Once again thanks.
