Finding an old truck you sold

Anyone know of a legit way to find the current owner of a vehicle based on the VIN? All the ones I see online seem pretty sketch.

Yes I do, but I will not be helping dark forces on the web figure out ways to steal back a truck they sold to some poor guy

Try googling the VIN to see if it's connected with the owner, some states allow you to check on their DMV websites.  States also sell the data, you'd buy all the VINs and it would come with all of the names and addresses.
