Hi all,

I recently picked up a Yamaha jet boat, and considering a truck with the trailering package.

I have a Z71 Suburban with a hitch, it does the job, but considering trading my 2021 Rubicon for a 2500 truck.

Love my Suburban, and keeping it.

Looking to be able to have the trailering package. Huge gas tank for long trips with less fill ups.

I also go back and fourth to my cabin, where I am in need a truck bed for tree cleanup, since I have around 7 acres.

Looking for comfort and size to also lug around my 2 German Shepherd dogs.

thanks,

If you're traveling long distance every weekend and looking for less fill ups, get the Duramax.  You described my current situation exactly including the Yamaha Boat less the dogs!

From my experience, the back seat area is a bit small for two full sized GSDs, on long trips.  I've had two smaller female German Shorthair Pointers back there, and it was "just enough" room for them to be comfortable on trips longer than an hour where they wanted to lie down.  That was only after creating a flat floor with a cushion to give them some added room.

Tried the same thing with a couple of 80lbs Labs, and they were complaining on the way home after working them for the day.  They couldn't get comfortable lying down together.

On a plus note, Eco-Hitch makes a great front "hidden hitch" setup, that would allow plugging a winch in to help with tree/brush cleanup, or maneuvering a trailer around the property.
