I had a 2019 RST, Z71 with the 5.3.  Just upgraded to 2022 Refresh RST, Z71 with the 6.2.  Got to drive it home 500 miles, some thoughts. Both trucks were/are fully loaded RST with sunroof, etc.  The only difference is the new truck has the 6.2 and all the refresh goodies inside.

1. The 2019 BOSE stereo is better, more base and just better all around IMO.

2. The 2022 refreshed interior is awesome,  huge upgrade and long overdue for GM. They are finally caught up with Ford and Dodge.

3. The 6.2 is always great.. had this in my 2016, but skipped it on the 2019. Nice to have it back on the 2022. I don't need it, as the 5.3 is more than adequate for me, but it sure is nice.

4. MPG is better by 1mpg so far on the 6.2.  I would think it will improve some more after some break-in

5. The adaptive cruise on the 2022:  I didn't have this on the 2019, and was real happy about getting this. However, it's kind of a let down... seems too "jerky" and quick to speed up/adjust. I wish they would update this software to "tone it down" a little.

6. The 2022 truck 10 speed trans vs the 8 speed on the 2019 - seems about the same and "ok"  However, I know these trans need some time to learn..so the jury is still out.

7. Not my first color choice with the Cherry Red Tintcoat color.. but it does match my boat perfect!  I defiantly could not do the "Red Hot"...but  think  I can live with this darker red.  And since this truck was one of the few with the lighter Gideon interior color and 6.2.. I bought it. I wasn't going to have the Jet Black interior again like last 3 trucks.. tired of it.

Nice truck and thanks for review. I share you sentiments about adaptive cruise. Plus it can wait way too long to stop when you are going 60mph into stopped traffic. I always have to intervene!

Nice review. That's actually my favorite color. When i finally get my RST, you have the same options, down to the interior color. Can you post a picture of the interior when you get a chance? I've never seen on on the lot with the grey interior. Hell , i can hardly find ANY on the lot, period. I need the 6.2 with max tow package.... looking for a unicorn it feels like.

Yes,  I believe only about 15% or so are Gideon interior. RST with that interior and 6.2 is pretty rare combo.   It looks nice.. light grey, chocolate.. light brown mix...   Last 3 silverado's I had were the the jet black.. just tired of it.

I'll also add this truck came with the factory "tube" style running boards, steps. I generally prefer the flat style.. but these do feel more robust and solid. And I like the step placement better. And since they were black, it was all good since my toolbox I keep from the last truck was also black.

As cool as the refresh is, once the newness wears off and the 30.00/month subscription for the google functionality kicks in (!), and that the software engineers that wrote the center display did not fully utilize the screen - the clock (and the other lame tile options that tale up the right side if the display) are just a wasted opportunity to me. Maybe in 2024 they will rewrite the software so the whole screen is utilized. In any case, I'm plenty happy with my 2021 High Country Black/Umber Interior, and that I'm not waiting on chips.
