I have a 2019 Silverado LD with 88k on it. About a week ago, the low oil light came on. I added 3 qts, was surprised it took that much. A day later, the CEL came on. I ran a scan and it returned P06DD.

Through a google search it looks like it could be the oil pump, oil pressure sending unit, dirty/contaminated oil, or damage to the front cover of the oil pump.

The dealer is looking at it tomorrow, but at first blush said $800 to $2500 depending what it is. I’ve asked them to change the oil first, and go from there as what I have read shows that may take care of the CEL.

Oil pressure gauge reads normal, and the light turns on and off depending. Has anyone had this turn off by changing oil? I don’t see it being the pump, and it isn’t commanding higher pressure either. Other than my remote start not working because of the CEL, I can’t tell any difference in the trucks performance. I’ve probably put 5-600 miles on the truck since the light came on early last week.

Any insight is appreciated. Thank You

Kinda pricey estimates for sure. Interested in what you find out.

I had them change the oil as planned. The CEL went off, but I've only driven it 5 miles since picking it up. The CEL was intermittent beforehand, so I'm looking to put a few days of driving on it to see what happens. Driving down the road 1500-2000rpm the oil pressure sits between 55-60psi at temp, and at idle it sits between 35-40psi. Temp outside was 55 degrees, so maybe the oil was a bit thick. I'd say the oil pressure is 10-15psi higher now then before this oil change. Being honest, I think I took this past oil change to 15,000 miles (I know, I know).
