2016 Silverado High Country.
Radio has been working great for years with no problems (SiriusXM). Turned the truck on today and nothing is working regarding SiriusXM however all other forms of radio or audio work. Im in a city and have never had XM issues before. Not sure what to do and haven't seen any recent forums with a good answer. Thanks in advance for any help or tips.

Welcome to the site.

Log into your XM account and send a refresh signal to the truck.

is it not working in a certain area, or is it dead everywhere ?

Dead everywhere, it was working just fine the day before, I have very few if any dead zones around where I live for an example. And it won’t let me reply for some reason to the other comment but I have exhausted all efforts through SXM help that’s why i came here.
Thanks!

2nd guess:

With what you have described here this is either due to a fault with the antennae itself ( even if it looks o.k. the antennae itself can fail internally ) or the XM radio receiver. Both will cause this fault here as I have seen before.

What has to be done is to have the fault codes checked/read out of the radio and XM control unit using a compatible scan tool/computer that will plug into your vehicles data port that can communicate with all computers in your model. There will be at least one fault code set with this issue here that will help to diagnose and locate this fault. This has to be done with a fully compatible scan tool/computer that can read all the computers in your model.

I would say most common for this issue that I have seen is the XM receiver itself as these tend to fail and require replacement usually by a dealer as the old receiver has to be deactivated by the dealer and the new receiver activate in your model for it to work.

Appreciate all of that info and advice, I’ll get that checked asap. Thanks again!

Same issue for me! I’ve used Sirius xm before and all was fine then one day blocked signal. I’ve tried refreshing and spent multiple calls with Sirius and nothing has worked. They want to charge me $400 to replace my antenna.

The satellite antenna is separate but within the same shark fin on the roof. The seal at the bottom has been known to not drain water and flood the internals causing them to corrode and fail. Buy a new antenna with seal and replace.
