Pulsar LT and emissions.

Recommended Posts

Good evening everyone, this is my first post. I have a 2019 AT4 6.2 with a Pulsar LT installed and I need to get my emissions done, does anyone know if I will fail emissions with it installed? Should I take off and drive over the weekend then get emissions done on Monday? Or am I worrying over nothing?
Thanks for any and all help!

Yes it will fail. Saw a video on Youtube from Lonestar Hawaiian who went to get his emissions checked and had his Pulsar installed and the truck failed. I believe it even said in the Pulsar manual to remove it if you have to go for service or emissions test. It blocks some communication to the factory computer and causes things to fail.

That’s what I saw as well, I guess I will take it off tomorrow morning, go drive around then go get tested.

I can confirm it has to be removed. Mine failed 2 readiness states.  Re move had to drive over 4 weeks and 300 miles for everything to reset.

FWIW, I went to get my truck tested after work today.

Not Ready...

Figured I'd give it a shot, and it didn't work out, lol

Maryland, Baltimore city testing station, fwiw.

Do you have a Pulsar LT installed?

Sorry, never got a notification of this reply.

Yes, it was installed at time of emissions test. Never even thought to research it beforehand.

4 incomplete readiness items.

Removed it, and within 2 days it showed 0 incomplete, or, ready to test.

Had to wait the week they required, and it passed easily.

Re-installed Pulsar LT the same day.

good to know. I have this and uninstalled the device bc body shop had to run scan tool and resets, and I didnt want any issues. Does anyone know what exactly fails the readiness tests? maybe the AFM delete or stop Auto start?
