While the Bose sound system in my 2015 Sierra Denali is pretty decent for a factory system, I've been trying to determine what options i have to improve.  Based upon what i've read in the forums, the bose speakers use an odd impedance, so replacing with aftermarket options will likely not produce great results.

Has anyone used the PAC AmpPro (AP4-GM61) aftermarket amp interface to add an amp?  Sounds like that would allow me to keep all the factory bells/whistles but also add a new amp (or amps) if i wanted to upgrade the sub speaker below the center console.  I assume that would also allow me to add an amp & replace the door/dash speakers with something of better quality?

Thanks!

Had a couple of speakers in my '11 Sierra with Bose fail and wanted to replace all the door speakers while I was replacing.  I knew the speakers were weird impedences but pulled a front and rear door speaker to check the impedence of each.  I forget exactly which was which, but one was like 3.7Ω and the other was something along the lines of 1.8Ω or 1.9Ω.  I went with 4Ω to replace the 3.7Ω and 2Ω to replace the 1.8Ω or 1.9Ω, whatever it was (think the fronts were 4Ω and rears were 2Ω).  Got 2 sets of Memphis 6.5" coax and running them on the OEM Bose amp right now and they actually sound pretty good.  I have a new HU, set of subs and 5ch amp I'm getting ready to install and will run the front doors on 2 channels, rear doors on 2 channels and subs on 5th channel.  Gonna bypass the entire Bose crap completely.  No big rush since my @#$%^& TCM decided to take a dump and there are none to be found

Thanks.  I was thinking of doing the same thing... by replacing some of the speakers with similar impedance as an initial step, just to see if i could tell a difference in sound quality by still using the factory HU & bose amp.

When I had my 08, I just unplugged my Bose sub and connected the line out converter for my amp at the plug.  When truck got totaled, simply removed converter and plugged factory sub back in. Even after I upgraded the radio I left it that way, I was too lazy to run the RCAs to the radio, it sounded good even though I was being lazy to run the wires to the radio.

Not sure if you already bought it and installed, but I have the PAC AmpPro (AP4-GM61)  installed and it works great. I bought this, PAC APH-GM02 AmpPro to T into the BOSE harness without splicing it up and ran the output to my amp.

Thanks for input.  I haven't moved on this yet, but seems like i did hear in some post that IF you listen to XM/satellite radio, that it is somehow affected by using the PAC AmpPro interface?  They said that it goes to a "mono" sound?  That was a little concerning to me since I probably spend 50% of my time listening to XM stations.

Have you noticed anything like that, if you use satellite radio?

Thanks!

Sorry, I don't listen to XM stations, so can't help you on that. I usually have Android Auto open and stream spotify/youtube music. There might be better options out there, I just stopped looking since I haven't had any issues so far, but I've heard others say these sometime do go to mono mode like you said, but been lucky so far I guess.
