Brand new to this forum. I have a 97 k2500 regular cab work truck. It only has 45,000 miles but the front of the frame is shot.  The rest of the truck is in great shape. What years would be suitable for a swap and does anyone have any leads on any frames in good shape?

thanks in advance.

where are you? I have a 98 K2500hd  RC with a bad trans. Body is shot, frame has a crack near steering box from plowing, been like that for years , also  right front bumper horn has  a bend, It has been aligned and doesn't wear tires. still runs but doesn't move, new ball joints etc etc.Manual 4wd works great .Trailer hitch and plow frame are welded to the frame. I am buying another 98 so may remove some parts like the lift gate, batteries , alternator, new front driveshaft etc. I rust killed the rear frame last time I had the bed off , Frame has no rust issues. I believe all NBS are compatable , 88-98 RC

That's a pretty good hike from here, hopefully you can find something closer. I will have it for another month or so before scrapping it. PM me if you are interested

I'm not sure if they are still available but you could  buy new frames from GM for reasonable $, Lots of labor to change though

Those trucks "should" be the same from 1988 to 2000 in the GMT-400 chassis.

For sure anything 1996-2000 would swap because 1996 was the last time they got a interior refresh and new electronic for OBD2.
