The hits just keep coming.  Jumped in the truck last night to run into town.  Service 4wd message comes on and parking brake started automatically setting every time truck was put in Park.  I admitted defeat and as soon as I got home I removed the steering wheel and completely disassembled both wheels and swapped over all the wiring and controls from my old wheel to the leather wrapped wheel.  Reinstalled and all is well.  Guess I'll be settling for addition of leather wrapped only.  Guess it's better than nothing.  For those of you actually still following along, thanks for riding along through the ups and downs of this drama fest.

I hate to hear that but at least you were able to solve the problem.  Leather wrap here we both come!

20240308_132340.thumb.jpg.692e1fd38ee397beefa23ffbd6ce3ad6.jpgI installed a used leather (non heated) wheel onto my 2024 2500HD Custom Silverado. None of the buttons worked right so I had to gut the wiring harness and buttons and swap my original guts over to the new leather wheel. When I had it apart again I looked at the main harness pin and all the wires are different. Either way, super happy with the leather instead of the plastic! Swapping the guts took 5 mins.

Note, you need a powerful impact gun to get the T50 off.

Sounds like you were in the same boat as me.  I didn’t use an impact to remove mine though; I held heat gun on the torx bolt for a minute or so and then it came off pretty easy with Ratchet and torx socket.

Yeah, I didn't have a heart gun. My buddy is a Chevy dealer mechanic and he said just use the impact gun. I was surprised how tight it was.  Either way, love the wheel. Best upgrade I've done.

I agree, love the leather wheel over the cheap feeling plastic one.
