Sudden High Pitched Sound when Accelerating

I have a 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT with 160k miles on it. A sudden high pitch sound happens when I accelerate but doesn’t last longer than 1 second. It kinda sounds like a quick metal scrap. It happens when I press on the gas pedal in any gear position and then goes away. I’ can’t figure out what’s causing this issue. Anyone else come across this sound or know of a solution?

  Yes it’s damn shame what vandalism can do. With defacing, putting chemicals on the grass and possibly including algae in the pool. I’ve taken care of a few pools in my life algae can be a problem. They’re ways to eliminate the problem. I’m sure the problem will be solved. Some people just don’t like nice things. Or is it TDS?

  ouch to both. $650 for hooking up their computer and hitting a "reset adapts" button is ridiculous. and I would want to know why they think a new transmission is required besides the manager wanting a bigger bonus this quarter.

  Thanks everyone for your input on this subject. It was very entertaining but not educational. Bottom line. The GM 6.6L should not consume oil, which it does, no matter the driving style. Only time will tell if it lasts past 100k. I am hoping 200k+. GM needs to get back to the piston rings and top fuel injection which works and has been proven. You may now move about the cabin.

  So for anyone else looking into this, yes the surround fascia is separate and easily swapped. Yes i went with the denali vader chrome. Will see what happens, truck isnt on highway much and gets cleaned often. Seem as rock chips and bugs have a helping hand with the problem.
