Need help with XM install

I have a Pioneer DEH-8200r stereo in my Tahoe. I came across a XM tuner that I got for dirt. I bought an antenna and had a IP cable already. Yesterday I installed the unit and rolled the Tahoe outside to test. The head-unit switches to External like it should and it reads XM tuner on the display. However nothing ever comes up it just keeps saying LOADING...

I downloaded the instructions for the XM tuner and it showed a reset button. I hit that and it still does the same thing. Am I overlooking something or do I have a problem somewhere. If the antenna was the problem it would say ANT right?

Any help ??

Sounds like an antenna problem to me.Whenever I am in a tunnel or lose signal my unit show "loading" on the display.Check your connections and make sure your not blocked to the south.

It is a problem with the antenna somehow.

I wiggled the connection at the box and got it to start working. But I can wiggle it and get it to go out again. Now it shows the ID and I can get it to play intermittantly. Do you think the problem is my tuner or the antenna? I dont want to call and activate until I know my tuner is good.

I agree with the antenna problem...I have one in my house, and if it get's windy sometimes the trees block the singnal, and it says "Loading" Make sure you have the cables for the antenna in the right hookups....I didn't install the one in my truck, but the one in my house, had two wires...one for the sat, and one that said ground..when I hooked it up, I accidentally switched them and got nothing..... also have you signed up your tuner yet?? Otherwise it might say loading on all the channels except for the test channel?? Just a thought

I took apart the connectors and the ends of the antenna lead look fine. I guess the tuner has gone bad  . I know it was working in the last vehicle it was in. It is from my friends truck that he traded in for a new one. Maybe the connector on the tuner got bumped when it was being taken out. Oh well.. I didn't give much for it. Now when I get a new one all I have to do is plug it in.
