My 2000 Silverado, along with multiple "old age" problems, now has a dead passenger door power window.  Pressing the button produces a "click" inside the door, but the window doesn't move.  I at least want to get the door panel off to investigate the possible problem, but not sure how to attack it without damaging anything in the disassembly.

Does anyone have a step-by-step procedure how to proceed with doing this?  Also, if anyone else has already experienced this same problem, could you share what the issue was and how it was fixed?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

At that age you probably need a new window regulator, they arent very robust and its a common failure on those trucks. Its a straightforward replacement but patience is key.

Removing the door panel is easy, the worst parts is IIRC there 3 different styles of screws in it. You would think they could have made them all the same but I guess that would have been too easy. Theres also one behind the lock switch that I used to forget about.

I wouldn’t do anything without checking videos on the net-YouTube. I didn’t have a clue when changing fluids in my avalanche the rear end fluid was full below the fill hole. I always let it run out. Replacing a door handle on my 98 two door Tahoe was a breeze after watching a video. And lastly a refresher on filling my AC in my avalanche. A video refresher was certainly a help. Figuring out how to fix my fluctuating transmission on my Odyssey by four fluid changes. And finding out how easy it was to do. Save me lots of money. Finding this website that taught an old dog new tricks. Would have never happened without the web.
