Well I did what you’ve been telling everyone not to do. I built an 04, 5.3L with all brand new parts except pistons and rods. Put in a high performance cam, headers Edelbrock intake, edelbrock carburetor, roller lifters, push rods, rings, oil pump, mains and rod bearings, three bolt cam gear and chain, bought all from Jegs HP.   Had heads reworked at machine shop. I found an 08 Silverado. Swapped engines. Then was told about the Reluctor Wheel. Pulled the engine, disassembled, changed Reluctor Wheel ,  assembled, put back in. Msd box runs motor. Only three sensors on motor now.  Transmission in limp mode. Any way to pull a wire off a pin on ecm or ground a signal to get out of limp mode?

A lot changed on the gen 4 vs. the gen 3 LS.  Probably a swap that wasn't worth doing seeing you are running into issues.

Thanks for the info, but didn’t help me any. Does anyone know what PIN number is limp mode for the TCM? I’m trying to get transmission out of limp mode by omitting the signal from the ECU.

In the Gen 3 to Gen4 swap you delete almost all sensors. I now have only 3sensors crank, cam, and water temp. So the ECU throws transmission into limp mode. I’m trying to omit that signal
