I have a couple of questions for the car stereo savvy folks here.  I can wire everything up, but am not a stereo builder.

I have upgraded all of the door and dash speakers on my 22 Refresh Denali, and while they made a big difference over the factory Bose speakers, I still think they need an amp to reach their full potential.  I am looking at adding the JL Audio XD660/6v2 via a LLJ Loopback Harness.  Do I need a LOC unit as well?  Is there anything else I am missing to make this as plug and play as possible?

I appreciate any advice or input.

Best advice I can give you is to avoid LLJ customs.  See the google reviews and check out BBB.

John makes harnesses and you don't have to wait months to get it and he'll actually respond to your questions.

JL audio is cool, but I went with an audio control d-6.1200 (it has a built in dsp).  If you go with that, you don't need a line output converter.  I looked at JL and was told that I would need a vxi amp along with a twk-88.  I opted to go for the Audio Control.

Thank you for the input!  I was looking at the AC LC-6.1200 this morning as another option, but it seems to need a processor as well.  I was told that the output from the Bose is 32v and I would need to convert it to 8v for the JLA.  I mainly wanted the amp to power the dash and door speakers, while leaving the Bose amp in place for the sub under the center console.

I may give AIS a call.

I realize this is almost a year old, but I would like to know if you added the amp to your truck and if so, what are the details of the install. Also, did you do anything about the door chimes as far as being loud?

I've got a 22 refresh Denali and am gathering stuff to do the same thing.

BTW, I have ordered from John at AIS and I have to say he is excellent to work with. Very good quality.

Thanks!

Jim
