I found you are not supposed to add lift blocks on trucks with composite overload springs. So I was looking at the deaver mini pack to lift it instead of buying $600 steel springs from GM just to add a block. I can't find any info with the search on if anyone has done the mini pack with a composite overload and if it even matters. So has anyone here tried it?

2020 LT 5.3 it definitely has the composite overload.

It looks like you would remove the composite overload while installing but just haven't found any info on people doing it. It appears in pictures that the composite overload is thicker than a normal steel one might just effect how much it lifts the truck.

How much lift are you wanting? You could likely just do a shackle.

The deaver mini pack essentially is designed to make you stock pack into a mini progressive pack. The overload apring defeats that purpose.

That's a good point didn't think of a shackle only want 1 -1.5" of lift that could probably work . Still would like to know if anyone has done a mini pack can't find much info on here on the new trucks always wanted to do it on my 2016. Just got the truck planning on doing everything next summer still trying to figure out my ideal setup.

Sold a lot of mini packs and full sets of deavers back when i was in the industry. Hands down the best springs made. But that doesnt mean best for your application. Towing wise deavers will flatten with heavy loads unless you special order them with info to give deaver on payload. When the whole overland fad started, we worked with deaver to make overland springs for the Tacomas and Tundras that were designed for more payload weight and keeping ride height/articulation when loaded down

That being said, if your gonna tow, i'd just look at a 1" shackle and keep your overload. If your not gonna tow more than say, a boat or small camper, then mini pack would def be a ride upgrade so long as they are paired with a shock that has some valving and nitro in it and not just a oil carrier

Thanks for the insight I don't tow a lot but I definitely max out the capabilities in short back road stretches from time to time. I think deavers with air bags would be dream set up but may just go with the shackles do to funds.   I had fox 2.0 on my last truck debating about Bilstein 6112/5100  or even ebiach 2.0 this time around. I live in the north so I enjoyed the aluminum body foxes not looking like crap after a year so may go back to that route. Do you have a preference on shocks?

Shock wise all 3 you named are good. Personally i have some Bilstein 5100's in the garage waiting for wheels/tires to show up. The Eibach's are relatively new to the shock world, but heard good things. The Fox's are great. All of them have more tailored valving and nitro which is what you want. The benefit with the 6112's are they are actually a 2.5" body shock, which just means more oil capacity to run cooler and less shock fade if your really getting after it. Its just not rebuildable like the other 2.5" body shocks (Icons, kings, etc). Just a big 5100 really, but comes with springs and likely a bit more specific valving.

Your right on the air bag/Deaver combo. It works well. We did that on the 1st gen raptors a lot for guys who wanted the performance but still towed. But for budget go, I think you would be happy with 5100's and a shackle and that would be most cost effective and still upgrade in quality.

I know I’ve been overloading my 2019 when overlanding. I added a “super spring” and my truck has a cognito 3.5” lift/level kit with Fox shocks. So far (35-50k miles since the super shock) no issues.
