I’m trying to figure out the difference between Bilstein 5100s for my 2022 Silverado LTD Custom (My truck is a non-trailboss, normal ride height).

Does anyone know the difference between part # 24-309509 and 24-293297?

My goal is to get my truck to be at a trail boss ride height.

thanks in advance!

It's compressed height.  The shocks are designed to be used on 0" lift to whatever height.

The 24-293297 is designed to work for stock height regular trucks but can be set to add lift.  Collapsed length is 16.28".  The 24-309509 collapsed length (17.58") is taller to get to the stock front height of a Trail Boss/AT4, and then obviously lift on a TB/AT4.

Thanks @newdude

I ordered the 24-309509 the other day and just noticed this morning the other part number. So I should be ok installing these on the tallest setting to get my desired lift?

Update. This is what the folks at Shock Surplus just sent me.

24-293297 is for the base models.

24-309509 is for only the Trail Boss.

I guess I’ll return the ones I bought and get the correct part #.

I set them to the highest position to get 3.1" total lift in the front.

Yea, I don't want to extend them up that far. I am looking to be right at ~2" all around. Trucks sits pretty level front to back now, but its just too low for most of the job sites I go on.

Shock Surplus is doing me a solid and exchanging the shocks out free of charge.

I used the 509 part # on my non AT4 truck and they worked fine, get extra lift out of them.

I have a '25 RST Duramax and could get my hands on a set of very cheap, almost new x509 (intended for the trail boss)

Looking for a 1.5" lift/level in the front - if I get these and install at the lowest setting (i.e. no lift), would I end up with 1.5 or 2" of lift?
