5.3 vs 2.7

Update im at 10000 miles and am getting 25-26 mpg work and back. Engine is getting better and better

I have the 5.3 and a 2.7, both the same year close to the same miles and the 2.7ho gets better mileage as in 14.5 vs 18 (currently in cold temps and off road tires). Which isn’t mind blowing but is something. Small displacement turbocharged engines are here to stay, all the new emissions standards guarantee the death of the v-8. I don’t like it either but the 2.7 is a pretty good engine and so far has had less issues than the 5.3’s. I’m not calling it durable till  we see some 250k plus trucks that still run well, we know the 5.3’s can with good maintenance. The transmissions not so much lol.
