Hey everyone. I can't seem to figure out how to turn off the auto dimming on the mirrors on my 2024. It was pissing rain the other night and I could see sweet bugger all out of the side mirrors. Had to roll down the window and stick my head out to see where I was going when I was backing up. I did look in the owner's manual as well as the DIC, but didn't see anything. Any advice how to control this feature if possible, and for those with these new trucks, are your mirrors that dark as well?

I don't believe there is a way.

I installed boost autos bottom heated mirrors and when re-installing the top glass electrical connector I failed and did not see one of the female pins slipped out of the connector. The drivers side didn't dim afterwards.

Did not get any errors. Just yesterday I pulled the top mirror and found my error. So, if a person wanted to, they could pull the pin out of the connector to disable.

The mirrors do tint down alot, but I have never been in a situation, to not want them. But if there is a reason to, I know how now.

Shutting off auto lights does not disable dimming. Neither does enabling surveillance mode. I would assume it's based off of the light sensor in the dash or rear view mirror sensor pointing to the windshield. Using the led light on my phone an inch away from the sensors will not brighten the mirrors. Unless the system needs both sensors to see light.

Thanks. Both are the same as your driver's side. Black as hell. Well, not quite, but pretty dark.

I cracked the passenger side main mirror and did not want to spend the $500+ that GM wanted for a single replacement mirror so I purchased a pair of the Boost Auto replacement mirrors for only $120/pair.  The downside is you lose the auto dimming feature, but you gain a turn signal underneath the glass so that vehicles behind you can see you making lane changes.  Your problem of the glass being too dark is solved, but you may find like I did that the headlights behind you are obnoxiously bright afterwards.

  • Thanks 1
