I've had my 2023 Sierra SLT since the end of September. So far, way better than the 2019 Sierra I had. I haven't done any long trips yet, but have one upcoming in December.

I am impressed. The 3.0 Duramax is pretty darn nice. It's quiet, so far gets very good mileage and has the power I need. The 10 speed transmission shifts seamlessly. No harsh up/down shift. No slamming when coming to a stop. The ride is way better than the 2019. Even on our rough roads. The large infotainment screen is nice, though I'm still learning to navigate it. I also like the DIC. And the tailgate is easier to close. All in all, I'm very happy with it.

I agree 100%.  I picked up my '23 High County in June and have almost 10,000 miles on it already. Fuel mileage is great and DEF usage is negligible. I did my first oil change around 7,000 miles and am about halfway to the next. It's amazing how quiet the engine is when idling or cruising at speed. I'm enjoying the low-end torques as well. I've also been enjoying the new interior - the infotainment screen is great, but I'm not a huge fan of the Google OS or the navigation. My '21 LTZ had the GM navigation, which I felt was better. I can say that I am a big fan of the multi-flex tailgate. Overall the truck is fantastic.

Very happy for both of you !  Thanks very much for posting your opinions and experiences.  I'm hoping to get back into a pickup truck after trading my 2018 Denali Ultimate 6.2.  Praying these insane prices will drop somewhat, I won't be holding my breath but anything is better than nothing.  Glad to hear good things about the 3.0 Duramax.

Enjoy...

I love the 3.0L Duramax also. I average 27 mpg on trips and 16.5 towing my 21 foot bassboat. My best mpg for 25 miles was 41.9. My best for 50 miles was 35.4. I'm not sure where I was located at the time I achieved these numbers. I travel to southwest Virginia every month. I made two trips to Wright-Patterson AFB last year and one trip to Spring, TX. There isn't too much flat land in southwestern Virginia so these numbers must have from trips to western Ohio or on the way to Texas.

I'm retired USAF too. Twenty years. Originally from Maryland. Retired from Seymour Johnson June 1989.

I really like my '23 LTZ 3.0 Duramax. The ride is so much better than my '11 2500HD Sierra Denali LML. I like the interior much better also except the seats, they seem smaller than in my 2500HD. So far it's been mostly trouble free, with the exception of an intermittent starting issue that really is more annoying than a problem.

What engine and transmission were in your 2019?
