Hello all! So I guess this is my introduction to the forums. I recently bought a 2024 Blue Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 and just love the truck man. It's the best Silverado I've owned but without a doubt the most fun to drive. So I've been wanting to start modding it. Well....I wanted exhaust and the MBRP system caught my eye. Me being an IDIOT I ordered the 21-23 system assuming 24 was the same. Well my shop installed it and it fit fine, everything lined up perfectly BUT they ended up with an extra plug, I'm assuming controlling the active exhaust that I didn't know Chevrolet had added for 24 and weren't on the install instructions. He ziptie'd it up out of the way but it threw a code a mile or two down the road. We scanned it and sure enough it was the exhaust control valve, I believe was the phrase/wording. They reset the code but is there a fix for this? I really don't want to have to remove this and put the stock back on but jumped the gun on this. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

i have no idea what the valve looks like, but the electrical connect must have been plugged into it. if you can just strap the valve back under the truck and plug it back in. there seem to be nothing on these trucks that won't throw a code if you unplug something

Take the original valve off the old exhaust and hook it up to the sensor.  Mount it somewhere out of the way and be done.

I think I read on this forum that MBRP makes an exhaust for the 2024s with active exhaust. Maybe you can retro fit a piece from the new setup?

Have you tried this? Want to see if it's possible before doing it

There is no way for the electrical circuit to know that the valve is installed in the exhaust, on the underbody, or in a bucket in the back of your truck.  The circuit only knows when its open or closed, where its located should be irrelevant.

No. If you need to modify an active exhaust contact Borla, Corsa or MBRP. Owners of those trucks have stated there is no need to modify that exhaust.

Do you know someone that has done it? Would like to talk to them. The idea of moving the valve sounds like it would work too.

Just crawl under your truck and plug the component into the sensor real quick and fire it up.  It takes 30 seconds and gives you the answer.

Check out the camaro forums. Just plug in the old sensor so codes are not thrown. Active exhaust is a great feature. I would have waited to get a compatible MBRP with the function.
