I just ordered one.  Sounds simple enough and affordable enough.  I've been waiting for something like this.

Next cylinder deactivation!

How will you disable DFM on your refresh?

Just wishful thinking that someday something simple like this comes along

Did you order the one I posted about or the Auto Stop Eliminator?

Range Technology has been working towards making/selling one but dont ask them about it. They would not tell me anything about a release date.

I ordered the one you posted.  The simple plug and play to the battery.

I called and talked to the company that makes the "SmartStopStart" module.......

He says it does not in any way affect how the battery is charged during running.

They somehow modify the trucks off-state data which in turn does not allow the truck to go into stop/start mode.

Which makes sense, as the install instructions tell you that the truck needs to be "off" for 8-hours minimum before the unit activates and works properly.

I'm going to order one....

I'd be interested to know if it throws codes that do not cause a CEL to glow. One of the guys here is having problems with this transmission, and the second dealer he brought it to said they found a code, that did not cause the CEL to come on, and indicated that his shutters were malfuncting. If this device causes such a code and the dealer sees it, well, codes for electrical issues, related or not, could be a cause for denying warranty work.

So far there are only two things about my truck that bother me. One is the DFM and I "solve" this by driving in S9 all the time, the other is the auto stop/start. I've trained myself to shift into S9 every time I put the truck in gear, and have also become pretty good about remembering to hit the autoS/S button. On other cars I have that button is down by my left knee, so remembering (and seeing it), is a bit harder. Thankfully the button on the truck is right where it should be.

Let us know how it works for you.

It works!  Impressive.  Easy plug and play installation.  I did have to remove my negative battery cable to remove the wiring connector but maybe because I was working in the dark.   I couldn't get my fingers in there to release it.  No big deal.    Good instructions - In English too!  Includes the required 10mm nut and a nice 10mm wrench which is always good to have.
