I'm not a fan of the auto start stop system and try to remember to push the button when I get in the truck but forget most times.

I came across this video and the link to this mod is in the video description. Has anyone heard of this or tried it?

I installed one on my 21 Sierra almost since new. Easy install and have not had any problems with it.

This is good to know thanks.

Never seen that one before.....looks simple.

BUT, what does it actually do to the truck and how does it work?

I don't like just installing modules without knowing how it works, in case I have issues.

I agree, that's why I'm asking here. I like you don't have to open up the whole instrument panel to install though.

I have the "Auto Stop Eliminator", been running it for over 2 years and love it, no problems, fairly easy install with a dash trim tool!!

That's what is so appealing about the original option......no need to tear the dash apart.

I won't do that just to install a jumper.....every time you tear apart the Tupperware it leads to squeaks and rattles.

It tricks the truck into thinking the battery is low so the truck stays running to charge it.

Thanks....sounds like s slick idea, but....

Got me wondering what that does to the battery? So is it continuing to charge the battery and possible overcharging it, I wonder?

There was a GM service bulletin someone had posted on here about auto stop eliminators causing issues with batteries or throwing codes. The resolution was to remove the auto stop eliminator and charge the customer since it was an aftermarket part and not covered under warranty.

That was one of the units that plugged in behind the dash switch........it always draws current and will eventually discharge the battery and throw a code.

I agree with the above about not wanting to take the dash apart. I didn't find any more videos on this item. Fooling the charging system concerns me also. I guess I need to do a better job of making myself turn it off as soon as I start the truck.

I just ordered one.  Sounds simple enough and affordable enough.  I've been waiting for something like this.
