I have a 2019 gmc Sierra 1500 limited 5.3 with 6 speed 6l80 trans. Was in a drive thru when i heard this rattling noise from the front end area. Did it for about 15 seconds and stopped. Thought it was weird so figured ill check it out when i get home. On the drive home the noise returned and it started slipping. I was able to make it home(less then 2 miles) and no sooner then i did i lost all gears!!!! I killed the truck and let it sit for about 5 minutes while I ran to get my scanner. (No check engine light on nor did it even flash while truck was slipping) it has no codes. How cld this be? I started and put in drive and it let me park under carport before noise came back and lost gears. Ive been told that i might have a bad torque converter, that the 6l80 trans is prone to converter failure. Was also told that it cld be the dod affecting the transmission. Idk, im at a loss. And help wld be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

If you lost all forward gears, probably means the front pump on the transmission is a goner, usually the torque converter slowly fails and takes it out.
