I think I have identified what is causing my adaptive cruise to intermittently turn off.  It appears to only happen when I am driving toward the Sun.  The light must reflect in the camera and cause the issue.  The seat vibrates and the adaptive cruise is unavailable for a while.  The cruise will work off and on when the Sun is in my face.  Has anyone else had this issue and what is the resolution besides driving west in the morning and east in the evening?

Yes I've had this happen. Usually able to go back to adaptive cruise in less than 30 minutes.

Mine does that. Noticed it happening when going towards the sun. More often when going up hill. Apparently the sun aligns with the lane keeping cameras and the distance sensors causing them to shut down. Seems to reset in about 3 minutes.

Mine will 'disable' when sun is low in the sky and vehicle is driving into it.

Same sun conditions that make it difficult for the me to see down the road.

Have you thought about checking if there's a firmware update for your car's adaptive cruise control? Also, check out the settings - there might be an option to calibrate the camera. Sometimes, doing that can help with the sensitivity to sunlight reflections.

Anyone else had an issue where ACC seems to be working, letting me cycle though the distance gaps and even shows the car in the heads up display, but does not slow down when approaching a vehicle?

I just purchased a 2019 high country with 92,000 miles and used ACC for the first time this weekend but it never seemed to work correctly. I was following my wife and I kept coming up behind her and having to slow myself down like normal cruise control. HUD would show a car out in front of me further out, and then jump to a red car really close almost like it just recognized it the last second. But the brakes never engaged or changed on its own. I’ve not experienced it automatically breaking randomly like some people have. Mine is the opposite. It doesn’t break on its own at.

after the trip, I did have some bugs over the front of the camera, so I’m going to clean those off and try again to see if that’s part of the problem. But I’m sure it was clean when I started since I cleaned the windshield before leaving.

Are you sure it has adaptive cruise?

(iirc, the first year for ACC was 2020, but could be wrong)

Forward collision alert / following distance indictor also has gap setting and shows vehicles ahead.

(following stuff and Lane change alert has been around 8 or more years)

If it has adaptive cruise it can be switched between adaptive cruise and regular cruise and will indicate which is active.

KSG should be the RPO code of you want to verify by scanning the QR code on the sticker at the bottom of the doorpost.

For 2025 model year KSG is standard on HC, optional on LTZ, ZR2, LTTB, RST, 1LT version of LT and WT.

Not available on Custom, Custom TB or 2FL version of LT

Thank you.I’m pretty sure you’re right. I got out the book to review everything and there’s nothing that says adaptive cruise. It just looks like adaptive cruise. The button or icon actually is crash avoidance or something like that. While it’s sad, it’s also less frustrating. Thank you for responding.

Happens to me all the time when sun is low in the sky and I am driving towards.  Noticed that back in 2021.

My ACC will shut off usually due to ice or camera obstruction.  Nice feature though.

I bet it's not a 2019 (or earlier) model

and yes. crap in front of the windshield camera will make it kick out.

I'm not sure if there is a way to obstruct the lidar..?

Adaptive cruise and HUD are on my list of favorite options.
