2017 Silverado - Fuse Block/loss of power issues

Have a recurring issue in my 2017 Silverado 1500. Twice in the past 4 months, the fuse block/mega fuse that sits atop the battery has gone bad, resulting in the truck to be a massive paperweight, with absolutely zero power.

The first time, I did the usual - checked the battery, cable, fuses, etc... with no luck, had it towed to a shop. They replaced the fuse block and all seemed fine. A couple weeks later, the same symptoms began to reappear, mainly, a quick loss of power as the truck turns over - quick enough that if you weren't paying attention, you may not even realize it if not for the radio and clock resetting. Happens intermittently, doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why it happens sometimes and not others. Morning, night, warm, cold, wet, dry... seems completely random.

Just a few weeks ago, I lost all power again. Replaced the fuse block, all seemed fine, but within a week, I am already seeing the quick loss of power when I turn the truck over. Just this morning, I got a "Service Trailer Break" warning after the loss of power. The next two times it happened, I didn't get any warning.

Can the Electronic Brake Control Module cause this type of issue?

Has anyone experienced this and know what may be causing my fuse block/loss of power issues?

There are about 4-6 individual BIG fuses on the power distribution unit that sits on top of the battery. Try to identify the specific fuse that is blowing. You have a HIGH AMP draw on that circuit. The trailer control unit lives in the back underside of the bed. If you live in the Salt belt, it's will corrod & yes short out. Unfortunately, not too many people have access to the wiring diagrams to trace from you main fuse to see what's being effected. I'd try to find a good electrical diagnostic shop like South Main Auto on YouTube. Not many mechanics are proficient on diagnosing this type issue.

Is the power block showing blown fuses or any electrical arcing. If you have the old one look at the bottom and see if there is any melted material around the post base or coming from under the top rail. Blueish discoloration is a sign of arcing. Check your grounds. Passenger wheel well, passenger frame engine compartment and one going into the fire wall about top center. I would also have the battery tested under load. A ground issue can be intermittent but will continue until you have them clean and tight. I had the same thing, and it didn't resolve until I cleaned and reattached the wheel well ground. Good luck!
