Brake pad wear sensor computer reset

Driver front brake pad wear sensor was torn out while driving. Dealer wanted $480 to replace it. instead I bought the sensor from the dealer and replaced it myself.  The system still indicates brake pad sensor system needs service.  Will this error message eventual go away?

no, you can try and reset the system from the truck menu, doesn't always work, get the system reset by a scanner, might be you have a wiring problem
