So far I have not been impressed with these Michelin Primacy tires Gm has decided to stick on the 3500 DRW trucks...along with making an 18" wheel an option but nobody makes a 235x80x18 tire EXCEPT Michelin right now....

I have had a couple different duallys and all the of them needed to be road forced off the lot.  They also seem to have flat spots on these tires that does seem to improve after 500 miles, but never seen tires on a new truck need balancing and flat spots like these Michelin Primacy.

I am not sure if its the truck or the tires - but there seems to be a lot of road noise that gets better or worse depending on the road surface, I am thinking its more the tires than any thing.

Are these tires new for 2024 or has GM been using them in the past years?

I believe flat spots went away when bias ply tires went away.

Any Michelin with the "Primacy" or "Premier" name on them are garbage.  Been this way for about 5-7 years.  Actually, most modern tires suck nowadays.

They use the same Primacy XC on the 17" dually wheels as well but in LT235/80R17.  Been using it at least since 2020 but I think before that as well.  In that size they also use the Energy Saver AS.

Its like the Nexen tires on my past Rams, I always changed them out .

Unfortunately I cant on this truck until the tire manufactures catch up on this size - BF Goodrich is suppose to have the KO3s in a 235x80x18 next year.

18" tires are new for 2024.  This is a new size that was added to tire and rim chart.  There has been issues with front hub extensions and might be the issue vs tires.

Iam going to ask the dealer when I get back to town. Is there a TSB?

I really like this truck, once this little gremlin is gone it should be just a matter of filling it with Diesel and let it eat.

Have been using the Primacy XC LT235/80R-17's at work on 2011-2019 cab and chassis dually's, all gas powered and loaded pretty heavy.  No issues.

I had Primacys on my F-150. I replaced them at 35K becuase I was heading out on a cross country trip but they would have easily gone 40K. This was with a lot of towing miles towing a 6500# trailer. I replaced them with Michelin Defenders which is a superior tire.

Did you think the Primacy were noisy, not like mud terrian noisy, but  like they seem to be road noisy?

Not one bit. My Defenders are noisier. both are plain road tires.

My front tires had an initial road force of 60 - the lowest they have gotten them to is 40.  Discount tire told me that they would like to see that number at 30 or lower.

Right now there is only some steering wheel wiggles on certain freeway conditions.
