I've recently converted from a Dodge Ram (had a '97 2500 Cummins) to an '04 2500 HD Duramax. I am, to put it mildly, very impressed and pleased with all aspects of the truck. It is a great performer, has a terrific ride, is quiet and has great curb appeal. It pulls my 5th wheel very handily and even my wife likes to drive it. She would not touch the Dodge. I have only two questions at this point. Can we put exhaust brakes on the Duramax in California? California has very strict emission standards. Exhaust brakes could not be put on the Cummins in California without voiding the warranty because of the EGR device requied in California. A lot of folks did anyway, but it was against the advice of Cummins. If Duramax will take the exhaust brake, which kind is the best?
