2024 Silverado 1500 Brake Issue?

Just wondering if anyone else is having a similar issue.   Brake monitor shows 90% life front, 86%rear which is backwards from what you would expect.   Truck feels to be lacking brake performance and sometimes seems to grab harder that others, while other times you expect to stop much quicker than you do and have mash the pedal to stop at an intersection.  It's a very weird feeling and even harder to explain.  It just doesn't feel normal to me.   My previous 21 Silverado never had this feeling to it.   At times,  it almost feels like it's braking in stages and applying rear brakes first.

 

Had it into the dealer today for an oil change and they said everything looks ok and nothing is wrong.   Truck only has 20600 kms on it.

Towing will wear the rear pads and specifically the inboard pad faster. It’s documented with GM

Seems more like an acknowledged flaw to wear out the set of pads unevenly. Share the document?

I haven't done any towing or hauling with this truck yet.  Interesting though, I'll see if it gets worse this summer with pulling the boat....

I'm with you on seeming incorrect. However I have seen 2-3 posts that guys have been having to replace the rear brakes before the fronts.

I've heard that is attributed to modern traction control / rollover mitigation which uses automatic engagement of the rear brakes more than the fronts. I also have a couple % difference front to rear with rear wearing more and nothing seems off to me, so I'm not worried about it.

Interesting.   Well at least I'm not the only one seeing a quicker bias rear to front.
