I'm seeing conflicting information regarding whether a 2021 Sierra 1500 with stop start will trigger "service ******" and or other warning lights in the cluster after replacing the battery.  My dealer says to go ahead and replace it myself, but some posts here and elsewhere claim changing the battery triggers warning lights.  Is there a standard procedure for clearing or re-setting things once the battery has been replaced that doesn't appear in the owners manual?  I typically run Odyssey Extreme batteries and my dealer wont handle anything unless its the factory part.  Thanks

If you take another battery and hook it to the truck with jumper cables, so the power is always there, then there shouldn't be any interuption in the system?? Then you can go ahead and change the battery.

Just change the battery. You will be fine. No engine lights. You will probably be prompted to roll down the drivers window and roll it up again. I don't know why but I've seen it several times when the battery is disconnected.

Changed the battery in my 20 Sierra. No issues. Have the new battery ready to put in the truck and swap them out. I think it took me about 15 minutes or less start to finish and tools put away.
