No 4WD Dash Light

My IP has a little dash light to indicate that 4wd is on, but the light doesn't work. I have the push button electronic transfer case and 4wd does work. 2000 silverado 2500. Anybody know how to fix? Yes there is a bulb behind it.

I'm 99% sure that on the push button shift (electronic shift) the cluster does NOT light up a 4WD indicator.  The switch has lights on each button and each button has a light to indicate what mode its in.

 

The floor shift trucks (manual transfer case) would use the dash indicator light to tell you its in 4WD as there is no buttons to shift it, just the floor lever.

Is there a way to wire it up to light up? A little orange light on the selector button is not that noticeable.

Yes, but it takes some work.

Note, that's for a '04 sierra, and you have a 2000, the IP's are different so you might need to  do something differently.
