Seat memory problem.

If you are in memory 1, turn off the truck, start the truck and press memory 1 again the back moves slightly.

I can recreate this 100%. The dealer is baffled. I can recreate in memory 2 as well.

Is it caused from the Easy Exit setting being set at just "a little different" from the setting in #1. You can set both the setting for driving and for exiting for each.

Is your truck on driver #1? Check you keyless entry and see if you are using the driver #1 key fob. The truck knows if you use #1 or #2 and adjust accordingly when unlocked. If you open and start it and it is driver #2 keys used it will set it up for #2. When you press #1 seat position it will adjust accordingly for that. Try setting the #2 seat position really far back or close and see if it adjust to that position when you start it.

Truck is in driver 1. 90% of the time the truck is unlocked so I dont use the fob. The easy exit is dramaticly different than #1 as is #2. Im 6'2 and my wife is like 5' 8.

So does anyone elses move?

The first thing the dealer thought was the EZ exit thing but its far different than the #1.

Anymore ideas guys?

I cannot get mine to keep a program. My seat will stay at the foward postion I program for a couple of days and then it does not move foward anymore on its on. I have to keep programming it this way. This morning my auto seat adjust does nothing, with key in or out. I drive it across town stop get out, get back in and it works fine. My mirror settings are starting to change on there on now. I have mine set for the key in and key out for easy access. I love the LT package but, these little electrical gremlins are disturbing. Anythoughts on this before I head to the dealer. The truck is only a month old with 2300 miles.

More problems, last time they re-flashed somthing to fix the seat problem. Now the mirrors dont fold in <sigh>

My seat demons only come out every three or four months. Every once in awhile I have to reset my position because it somehow "learns" a different position. Take last night for example... Four in my truck, so I put my seat forward for my buddy. Went into a restaurant for dinner and when we came out my seat should have reset when I unlocked my doors. It didn't, and stayed in the forward position all evening. This morning I went out and it was still hadn't reset, so I had to "reteach" it.

It's weird, it sucks and it's annoying...but probably isn't something that I can recreate at the dealership, so I live with it

I got flashed again and now my mirrors tilt down before they fold thats kinda cool I guess. And now I have a new option in the menu, "Curb View Assist" or somthing like that. Now the mirrors tilt down when I backup. Interesting.

Before my driver 1-2 did not adjust the outside mirrors now they do.

I guess these are all good things. The backseat still twitches when you tap 1 again

So how can I access all these settings in the truck? I would love to plug my laptop into the truck and poke around.

It's my understanding that you need the steering wheel mounted controls to access most of the options. I know that when we bought the wife's '04 Tahoe, that is what we were told...

Did you get this problem corrected? I just bought a 2004 Silverado LT extended cab. I'm having problems with the driver's side mirror remembering its settings. It forgets the settings every few days which is starting to be a pain in the a$$. Otherwise the truck has been great so far but I do wonder how many problems I will have with these fancy controls when the truck gets older. :chevy:

Just wanted to let all you guys know that GM is aware of the problem and has a bulletin out to let us dealers know. They said for now there is no fix but they are working on a software update to fix the problem.

I'll let you know when I see an updated bulletin with the fix.

Thank god everybody else is having this problem. My 03 keeps its memory sporadically. Usually between 3 days and a month. I've tried the "easy access" difference route and it worked for 6 months. Now I'm back to square one. My wife is alot shorter than me and this is a major problem because fob 2 is set for her and fob 1 is set for me. I was afraid to approach the dealer with this problem because it is almost unbelievable. I cannot imagine the software language being that difficult in a vehicle. You would think that GM could find a decent programmer. I've also noticed that when she programs her radio stations for fob 2 they are screwed up about a month later. Lets just keep our fingers crossed that they come up with a fix because this problem really pisses a guy off when you go to get in your truck and the mirrors, stations, and seats are in completly different spots.

If everyone doesn't have the problem maybe it is hardware?
