Intakes

I am going to purchase a intake for a 5.3L. I like the UPD (NSV) intake but hear alot about how easy it is to break. Do you think I should pay for the UPD (NSV) or just buy a K&N drop in filter and the smooth tube from AirRaid? Any Info is great, thanks.

hey buddy i have taken mine off a zillion times and i havent had a problem. just remember it is plastic. and it works great. it has dynoed making more power by people on ls1tech making more ppower than some others. i have that exact set up.

Same here. Ive had mine for a LONG time. No problems at all! Ive taken it out quite a few times. I have heard of a few people blowing their UPD (NSV) to pieces from NOS bakcfires but thats it.

I like the UPD (NSV) also Dave, and have had no problems with it. I also added a ram air set-up out of the bottom of the factory box down to the front tow hook opening that works great!
