For trucks the first year was 1987. If you want to get technical the 1982 and 1984 Corvette had a version of TBI called Cross-fire injection on a 350.

Was it standard in 1987? Or just an option?

I think all 350s in 87 were EFI.

So were the 305's... Yup... they had em.. my High Sierra had one. That was my first fuel injected vehicle, what a difference over a carb...

Actually. Corvette ran TBI until 1989 when the L98 came into play. The L98 I believe was MPI. Then in 90 the LT5 hit the streets

Corvette 1980 had a Q-Jet and 1981 had Computer Comand Control System which was a computer controlled Q-jet.

190hp? Our 75 with a 4 barrel and a 350 only made 150hp of fury

In 87 they still had the 350 "M" engine that was cabbage graded and available in the c20 c30 and k30 trucks.

 

All light duty went tbi including k20 suburbans that only came with the 350 engine.

 

There was also 2 different vin 454 engines, The w was TBI in available in NBS trucks in 1988 and the carby motor was still in the OBS trucks until 89-90, cant remember the vin on that one though.
