Jacking tabs on frame

:loser: Yeah, I know. Another 'where to jack up my Silverado' post. I was just wondering if it's OK to use those metal tabs that are welded to the front frame just behind the front wheel to jack up my '03 Silverado Ext. Cab? Or are they only for emergency use with the jack that came with my truck? The owners manual says to use them to change the tire, but I wonder if they can be used on a regular basis with a floor jack and stands. Is it safe? Just wondering.

I place my stands in that general area when I'm putting her up for a grease job. The only issue being, the wax-like coating over the rails will come off over time due to friction from the stands/jack. I've also coated my rails with POR15 rust inhibiting paint to help with this somewhat.

I put my stands in that area. My floor jack can't reach the truck (it's a small 2 -ton jack) - so I use the tire changing jack to lift the truck, then slide the stand into place. No problems with it there so far.
