Squealy Wheels????

Any of y'all have this problem? Seems like most of the time, regardless of the speed, the wheels seem to squeal all the time. Kinda like squealing brakes, but even if the brakes aren't applied, they still make the sound. I've heard a couple similar models driving by and the make a similar noise. Just wonderingif anyone has had this problem also, and any possible fixes. I'm planning on removing the wheels in a couple weeks when I re detail the truck after I get home from school. Thanks in advance guys.

My brakes make a "swish" noise pretty much all the time... whether they are being applied or not. I haven't noticed any unusual amounts of of wear, brake dust or heat, so I haven't been concerned about it. My buddy did have a couple of calipers hang up on his '02 Avalanche though...

Most likely rust has built up on the inside edges of your rotors and is hitting the backing plate.

 

Lift each wheel individually and spin it to find which one, then removeit clean of the rust, check the condition of the backing plate, and reinstall and check again.

Make sure its not he warning scrapers on the brake pads,noise may go away when you APPLY the brakes....just a thought
