"Random Misfire" Check engine light...need help!

I have been trying to figure out a check engine light issue on my fiancee's 1997 Bravada (same 4.3 Vortec as Jimmy's and Blazer). The code reads out as "random engine misfire". It first started last summer, but went away and did not come back until lately. Now the light is on more than off. Sometimes it will go off, but comes back on w/ in a day or so. It usually comes on first thing in the morning when the engine is cold (and it is cold out). I have replaced the plugs, fuel filter, air filter, and checked the PCV valve but it didn't help. Next on the list is wires. Any other recommendations? I suspect it has something to do w/ the cold start system, since when the light does turn off (or I reset it), it won't come back on until the next day (when the engine is cold again). Sounds like a computer realted issue. You may want to have the dealer hook it up to the computer and diagnose this one.
