HyperTech Programing....

I have the HyperTech programer and I am only using the default features. Being that I am not an expert or anything I haven't messed with changing the shift points or any of the other stuff.

Have any of you guys figured out any good settings that I should try ??

How do you like it so far? Have you noticed a change with it? I've been kicking around the idea of Hypertech, despite everyone's opinion...I just can't see spending the big money for Westers when the '03 5.3L guys aren't seeing any real change.

I added the HyperTech at the same time I did the CAI and dual exhaust. The Tahoe runs great but it's hard to tell ecactly how much each item contributes to the acceleration. The main differance I can tell is the Tahoe shifts cleaner and that makes it ride better.

I have a HyperTech PP III for my '03 4.8L Yukon. In my opinion it makes significant improvement over stock. I was advised by Hypertech to raise the shifts points: 1-2 shift 3mph 2-3 shift 3 mph 3-4 shift 2 mph.

All that being said, I'm going to sell mine and buck up for a Westers. WHY, you ask? Most of the changes in the Hypertech occur at WOT (Wide Open Throttle). I'm an old fogie and don't spend much time at WOT any more. With the 4.8L I'm looking more for low RPM torque improvements than Top Speed power. Westers tells me they can tune for my needs, soooooo there goes $500 bucks.

Just my opinion.

Well before I found this site I bought a HPP III and I always doubted that tuning a few things could really make an improvement... I was right I think the HPP III was a waste. Now I'm very reluctant to buy a Wester's even though everyone here seems to love them. Needless to say I'm holding out for a big *** supercharger!

You guys really should look into a tune. Do you have any idea how far superior LS1Edit tunes are to the HPP3. So much more can be changed and tuned rather than just shifts and timing. Numerous people on LS1Tech have posted gains of sometimes 18-22+ HP with a Nelson tune. Try that with a Hypertech. You cannot even match the gains of a custom tune with the Hypertech. There honestly is no comparison! Realy look into either a Nelson or Westers tune guys. I just got my cam in and Allen Nelson is doing my tune.

I've heard that everyone who uses LSIedit loved it, but I'm very hesitant because I'm afraid of screwing something up. How easy is it really to use? Is it possible to mess anything up or is it dummy proof? The web site seems a little technical so I'm a little sceptical about going on a venture like that.
