Hey guys,

 

I need your help. What are some good roll-up bed covers that will last long, looks good [low profile], and reasonable price?

 

I've been searching around and found out there are different kinds ranging from do it yourself to electric roll. I really don't need the electric ones and I know those will cost more.

 

Does anybody know anything or have installed Access roll-up cover tonneau bed covers? I would like to spend around $400-$600 on it. Any info would be great. Thanks in advance.

The Access roll up cover is just a soft vinyl cover that has the support bows sewn into the cover. Sportmasters also makes the same thing called a "Tonneau Master".

 

These covers are held to the frame with velcro.

 

The true Roll-up covers are made of Aluminum Slats and roll up via spring into a canister that is about 9" x 9" and mounts to the front of the bed like a toolbox. There are tracks that mount to the inside of your bed and the cover slides in the track.

 

There are also about 3 different manufacturers of these covers and the all are a little different but the same idea.

Well my BedRug and Access Roll-up cover just arrived today (wife called the office) and I will probably get around to installing them next week.

 

If you're not in a serious rush, I will post pictures by next Friday and you can see before and after pix.

I have had my access cover on two different trucks. I have had it for about 4 years and it still works fine. I haven't used any cleaner on it at all, and it still does not crack or anything. I would buy one again.....If I ever need to buy one again.

How much did it cost ya? I went to their website and it doesn't show the cost. I was thinking about getting it on my truck. When you drive, does the vinyl flap when driving at high speed? I guess if you set the tension tight enough, it won't flap.

I found the best price and I ordered the Access Roll-up from here. (Carmic direct)

 

I also bought a Bed Rug from them and they had incredible delivery time, probably due to only being a state or so away. My order shipped on Monday and the wife called me at work today and said my toys arrived and were waiting for me in the driveway. :D

 

I'll post the pics for you, I would be doing it this weekend, but the new truck is getting Simoniz'd on Tuesday and need to keep the bed open. It's killing me keeping them in their boxes. :cool:

Thanks for the link! I really appreciate it. $359 is definitely a good price for a roll-up bed cover and plus the price is just right.

 

I'm guessing you are not afriad of the gas prices going up. With the gas prices going up, I'm having 2nd thoughts. I'll probably still get the truck and definitely get the bed cover.

 

Plus I drive 40+ round trip where I work so I'll be re-fueling about every week or so probably. :D

Well, I seriously thought about it and even test drove a couple Colorado's for that very reason.

 

However, I have always wanted a brand new truck since I was a teeny lil' pup and I said to myself, myself I said "Get what is going to make you happy". I can't tell you the joy I have, I've owned several used trucks and even though they were only a couple years old, it's nothing like this pride and joy.

 

I haven't had a single second of buyers remorse or a second though on my decision. I'm having a hard time waiting for my vacation time to come next month to take the truck, the gear and the Mtn. Bikes up to the Upper Penninsula of MIchigan. It's my excuse to put some miles on it. :cool:

 

I figure that when I lived in Seattle, I dropped more in Mocha's than I do in gas. If you think about it, most of us don't think anything of treating ourselves to a $4 cup of coffee of which my grandmother about freaks on.

 

And also name another liquid that is cheaper by the gallon than gas, heck, even bottled water is more expensive, how many times have you bought your wife (or SO) a 16oz bottle for $1.69? hehehe

 

Get the truck and don't look back, you won't regret it!

That is so true about your quote. I told my dad the same thing. When I buy the Sierra, I want to pick the truck with the option I want and then I will be happy with it and I plan on keeping it for 6-7 years. I'm going to use my truck to tow my parents 1989 21' Coachmen Catalina travel trailer.

 

I can't believe a cup of coffee is $4.00 and a 16oz. water is $1.69. That is completely outrages!! :cool:

 

Yeah, I'm still getting the truck. I plan on getting the roll-up bed cover, Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system, Line-X spray on bedliner, and maybe the 17" rims. I will post pics once I get it. :D

I love my accesscover. I bought a new one from a seller on ebay. Got it for $350 SHIPPED! Called accesscover, and gave them the serial # and it qualified for full manuafactuers warranty.

 

This is a quality cover, and it fits tight. Rolls up easy, very well designed.

 

If anyone is interested, I can email the guy I bought it from and see if he is still selling them, and I will post his email for ya'll if he does.

 

I will try to take pictures of it if anyone is interested

Some access cover questions for you.

 

1. Carmic direct is selling for $359.00 + 22.95 shipping = $381.95. Anyone else find a better deal? How about that seller on e-bay? Any contact info?

 

2. Is the Limited edition Access cover with the black anodized rails much better looking than the standard?

I emailed him a few days ago. I am still waiting on a response. He might not sell them anymore. I just think I got a heck of a deal for $350 out the door (price INCLUDED shipping, no tax)

 

If he emails me back, I will post his contact info. This is an awesome cover for the money.
