what is this?

On my 1998 silverado (ext cab) which has buckets, I have what seems to be a metal bracket/lever that's on the bottom left hand side of the passenger seat which is covered in a black rubber sleeve that sticks out. It's on the side of the seat opposite of the recliner lever or if your sitting behind the seat it's on the lower left of the seat. What is this? The only thing I can think of is that's it helps you move the seat back and forth?

Well, why don't you pull on it and see what happens. Worse case scenario is that is an ejection seat lever. lol

I have pulled it, moved it, and nothing happens. It doesn't really move that easy to begin with, that's why I'm thinking it's for moving the seat forward or backward? But even this doesn't make much sense as I just hold onto the seat anyway.

Simple......My dads 03 S-10 has buckets and it too has a hard plastic

covered piece on each track on the left side of each seat that sticks

out and pokes your shin !

Its a BIG PIA esp. on the left seat !

As far as I can tell it does nothing ! I think it covers the seat track.

It appears to me to be easily removed and cut off or trimmed.

Haven't had time to mess with it tho.........

The old folks drive with the seat waaaaay forward and don't notice it.

I have the seat a ways back and it pokes me !

I posted about it long ago in the S-10 forum here and had a few responses!

Sure glad my full sizer has a 40/20/40 bench seat! :troll:
