CD Player problem - 2003 Envoy XL SLT

The Bose radio is my wife's truck isn't playing CDs. You put them in and it displays "Track" and searches for while, and then ejects it and says "Check Disc". This happens with any CD, even new ones. And a few times, while listening to the radio, it will just change to CD mode by itself and make a whirling sound like it's looking for a disc. Weird.

The truck is still under warranty, so I'm not worried about it being covered, but I'm just curious if there's a reset or something I could do to try to resolve it if it isn't a real problem

Thanks. It's busted for sure. I called the dealer, he said to bring it in and they'll check it out. I wonder if they fix the radio, or just replace it with a new one?

They will probally just replace it.

They sure will replace it, but with a refurbished one. Very seldom do they give you a BRAND new unit.

Just heard from the dealer. He said no refurbs, only new.

Taking the wifes 2004 TB in next week to have the CD/Radio replaced. It does the Track...... Error message and then spits the CD out also.

The dealer ordered a new radio for us, it's on it way.

Well, the dealer put the new radio in today. They found $1.98 in coins shoved into the radio. Previous owner OOPS. So new radio is perfect, BUT, they broke the center console faux wood trim and plastic side panels when they were removing it. So now they are replacing that for me. The joy, I love going back to the dealer, over, and over, and over again.

I took the wifes apart before it ever went to the dealer. There was a question as to wheather or not our 2 year old had placed money in there. She thought he had. I took it all apart, even the radio. No money. But the dealer wouldn't work on it unless it was back together. They also needed the number on the back of the radio. If I had known that I would have gotten it for them. They replaced it all for free under warranty so she is happy. And that makes us all happy!

They did ours under warranty, at least as far as I know they did. When they found the money, maybe they decided they hate to eat the cost since it was a used car they sold? Don't know, but I know they are eating the cost of the new center console parts.
