Shifter Arm loose:(

Is it very hard to tighten it myself? It was like that when I bought the truck, and they said just to make an appointment to get it fixed. I would rather just take care of it myself if I can. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm guessing you mean the shift lever in the cab for a manual transmission, If so, push the boot down at the base of the lever and there is a jam nut there which will tighten the lever. position the lever where you want it and tighten the nut .

IF it's an automatic, take the rubber skirt off around it. It pulls toward the shifter, not the steering column. There should be some bolts that tighten it.

Our 01's allready got some tears in that rubber skirt. Sun eats them.
