Ranch Hand products

With my wife doing a lot of driving every week plus going to her parent's place quite a bit,I purchased replacement bumpers for her truck at the beginning of April. The front bumper was a Ranch Hand full replactement with the grill guard and it is a sturdy product to say the least.

After just a few months,I noticed some surface rust coming up through the powder coating under the skirts and around several of the welds.I was a little upset about this and mentioned it to one of the main guys at the truck accessory place I got it from yesterday when I went to pick up a bug shield for my brother's '04 Z71 (different story, gorgeous truck.I'll get some pics up in the next week or so).He got on the phone to their main Houston office, which happens to be right down the road from my wife's place of employment and tells them what's going on.They said that they didn't have one on hand but would find one ASAP and rectify the problem so Chris (truck accessory guy) took my contact info and told me he'd call me when he heard something.

I wasn't 10 minutes away from the place when Chris calls my cell phone and tells me that Ranch Hand has the identical bumper on hand and that it's already coated with bed liner. He also states that they will swap it out free of charge if she can get by there within the next few days.

To make an already long story short, she now has a new bed lined replacement bumper on her truck and it looks awesome.I will not hesitate to purchase one of their products again because I understand that mistakes are made but customer service like that definitely makes up for it.

So IMO,Ranch Hand gets :fume::D

Thats the only way to go. I had my after market bumper line x and it looks and works well. They tell me that it will not come off or rust.and if it holds up as well as the bed liner does I'll be happy :fume:

great idea, that bedliner coating.

But, there is no replacement for powder coating for me.

I rack-up 2880 miles a month just commuting.

I can't image having to scrub the bugs off a front end with the texture of the bedliner products.

I looked at getting the powdercoating done but one of the tech had his done and a couple of years later the salt and spray had gotten to it and started to pit and rust  The linex is easy to clean as all you have to do is spray on some wheel cleaner or armorall and wash off. If bugs are a problem (like mine gets) just use hydrogen peroxide as it disolves protein(bugs and yuck)

I really like my Ranch Hand Bull Nose bumpers. I have them because we travel through the mountains a lot and don't want to come face-to-face with deer/elk/antelope/buffalo without the added protection of a solid bumper.

Another Newbie here! My Ranch Hand Grill Guard did the job just today. I hit a good old West Texas Whitetail(at 3:30pm no less) at around 50 mph and the only real damage to the truck was cosmetic(poor little six point didn't fare so well). It'll be back out on the road in a matter of days and I saved my insurance company a load of $$.

My body shop asked if I wanted to replace the grill guard or leave it off, I said, "I absolutely want to replace it!" Ranch Hand products are by far superior to any other on the market!! :(:jester:

Bart, what kind of truck do you have that thing on?

It's a 2001 GMC Sierra 2WD SLT. Don't really need 4WD since I have graded road access to my hunting spots and we take a Jeep from the cabin. Like you, I also have the Dueler Revos and I would venture to say they are the best all-around tire you can buy. Looking at putting a body lift on the 2WD to give me a little better clearance for the tires though.

Did any of you tighten you torsion bars after installing the guard? I installed a Ranch Hand grill guard on my '04 Z-71 Crew Cab last night an am wondering if it will improve the handling if I tighten mine a bit. It does add a fair amount of weight to the front end. By the same token, I tow a 20' bass boat with a single axle trailer often so I want to be careful of of getting the front end too "light" when I'm towing.

Hey, thanks in advance for any input...

Hey everyone, newbie here.

I just recently had my truck hit in a parking lot and was looking to replace the bumper with something a little sturdier. I have been looking at the Bull Nose front bumper to put on my 1500. My only concern is whether the added weight will have any adverse effects on my front end without it being a heavy duty.

    • Regular cab has only 2 speakers.  One in each door.  No amp.  Radio drives the speakers.
    • Thanks for response. Leak was right under drivers seat or thereabout.   Had checked by other mechanics and have read other information.   The solution can be a tad complicated and replacing multiple parts And with some.  The issue was still the same.   The brakes do work.   Just that the pedal is softer and goes further down.  But the brakes do work.
    • Breaking News!    I'm going to tell you that I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I told  you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I'm about to tell you on the other side of the break.  Then we're going to break. Then I'm not going to tell you what I told you I was going to tell you.  But I'll tell you something else that is Breaking News just coming to the desk that everyone reported on yesterday.  Then I'll tease a human interest telling I'll get to on the other side of a larger break. Then I'll tell you one item in 20 seconds and go back to an even longer break. Longest break of the night.  Then I'll tell you a fluff piece that takes 10 seconds and sign off into a three minute break while you wait for the next 30 minutes of rinse and repeat on the local news.    In al you'll get about 12 minutes of something, 5 minutes of which is worth hearing in a 30 minute show and 18 minutes of advertising at a sound level twice as loud as the news.    Of course you can switch to cable news and hear 12 different people tell the same four stories in much the same format as the Network News for 20 hours of which the majority will be advertising.  And four hours of late night Specials about things you wonder why you stayed up to listen to. Half of which will be repeats.....   OR you can go for a drive
    • Did you ever figure this out? My 2022 Trail Boss, and now my 2026 LT did this from time to time.  I believe it was more connected to Android Auto and my phone being the cause. Maybe try going for a drive, sans cell phone.... and see if it happens?
    • I have a 2026 Silverado LT, the non bose as well.  Upgrading the door speakers is pretty straightforward. You could honestly go to walmart, or Auto Zone/ O Reilly and get a set of 6x9s for the front, and 6.5s for the rear. You do also have to get some adapters for each, but they are like $10 a pair on Amazon. Then some plug and play harnesses that are about $10 a pair on Amazon as well.  And I would also suggest a 10 pack of the Amazon Basics sound deadening. Slap that all around the speakers and on the open metal of the inside of the door. And your golden.   I am currently doing this with my Silverado. Although I am having a bit of trouble because I am snooby I guess and bought some Alpine S2 S69c's which are 2 way components and I am having to wire from the door up to the dash....  Having never installed speakers before, its taking me just a bit to get everything correct. But if you dont buy expensive component speakers, and just some $40-$50 door speakers. You will DRASTICALLY improve the sound over these stock paper cone junk speakers. I thought my Silverado had an issue with the radio/ sound for a while.  Come to find out.  The stock speakers are just THAT SH*TTY   I cannot wait to have some decent sound in the truck   What did you end up doing?
